The World of MMO

I know from personal experience how addictive games can be.  Especially when you enter the online world.  MMO games are my favorites.  World of Warcraft is one that I am highly addicted to and any gamer knows it can be totally absorbing.
You know there are always those “researchers” out there looking to explain why people do what they do.  Bottom line is for me is that if you are addicted to gaming, hey there is nothing wrong with that.  But psychologists seem to think so.  They are always looking for some way to drug up the world.  They now want to label hard core gaming as “compulsive behavior”.  Well yeah maybe it is compulsive but it’s fun and fulfilling.

Now I am sure there are people out there that let their gaming get in the way of marriages, children, jobs, etc.  But that is a very small part of the population.  And I do sympathize with them.

Entering an MMO world is an escape from reality and it’s an enjoyable escape that most of us need.  I don’t see anything wrong with that nor do I see the need to get psychiatric treatment for it.

Now I don’t agree that you should let gaming take over your life, but what’s wrong with enjoying it leisurely?

I hope that any gamer who is turning down opportunities in life just to play a game comes to face reality.  But I also hope that the larger majority of gamers turn their addiction into something positive such as playing games for a living.

If you’re looking for a way to make playing games a career, then you need to check out my site Game-Testers.com.  I will show you everything you need to know to get started putting your gaming experience to good use.

Kind of sad how MMO players are considered the saddest type of people because of there addiction. You have people addicted to some serious drugs. I think those damn researches should be working with the reason people are addicted to drugs, not MMO’s. Personally people enjoy MMO’s because of the interaction involved plus the teamwork skills also. Everyone likes to be part of something it seems and that is one reason people play MMO’s and that is one reason why people do drugs. Just pointing that out.
