The Future of Video Games

For many of us gamers, who have been around for quite some time we know how much things have changed since Atari.

I can only imagine what our parents have seen with regards to the changes to modern technology. Can you imagine what video games will be like 10 years from now? What about 20 years from now?

Take a look at say the original Pac-Man and compare that to Call of Duty 4. WOW, I mean you can’t even compare. Graphics, user compatibility, online action, etc. Gaming has changed so much just over the last 10 years; I can’t even begin to imagine where it will be in 10 more.

Now the naysayers have and will always argue that games are bad at some level. Violence, upsetting the kids, whatever. It’s not going to stop and will probably escalate to a point we’ve never seen yet. That’s scary too.

The good news is that these days, I’ve seen a lot of video games being used positively in helping those with mental and physical illnesses. Just the other night I watched something on the news about Nintendo donating a bunch of Wii consoles to a kids hospital.

With the expansions we’ve had on artificial intelligence and general technology, I hope that I am alive long enough to see how that translates into the latest and greatest video games out there.

Who would have thought a few years ago that Nintendo would come out with a console that would allow you to exercise? I mean really exercise? Calculate body mass, really work you out? I wouldn’t have thought of that. With all of the high tech applications out there today, it’s only going to get better.

All the big gaming developers are busy developing more sophisticated and more advanced versions of gaming consoles. If you have any doubt on the positive future of games, then take my word; it’s amazing and continuing to allow great opportunities for gamers who want to make a career in the gaming industry. In this highly competitive field, companies are in need of game testers (and other game related positions), who can test their games and make their companies and games more successful.

Lots of game tester opportunities are waiting for you here on my site Game-testers.com. You can also subscribe here so to get access to the latest opportunities posted.
