Stop the Madness, Games Don’t Kill People, People Kill People!

It just really tweaks me when I see anything anywhere spewing out of the mouths of anti-gamers.

I just read an article about Danny Ledonne.  In case you don’t know who he is, he’s the guy that created the RPG game Super Columbine Massacre.  Now if we agree or disagree with his thoughts, feelings that’s fine.  We’re all entitled to that.  But to say that a person playing a video game will then turn around and kill someone SIMPLY because of a video game is absolutely ludicrous.

If you want to get fired up, then read the full article here:
Ledonne News Article

In this particular case with Ledonne, he has been blamed for the attach by Kimveer Gill on Sept 13 2006 at Dawson College in Canada.  Now why was and is he being blamed?  Because the killer played his game.  Ok so if I smoke a Marlboro cigarette and go kill someone is Marlboro to blame?  No, so why should a video game be to blame for a murderer.  Quite honestly regardless of what games he played, cigarettes he smoked, alcohol he consumed he would be a killer.

I think it would benefit everyone including the anti-game activists to start looking into why a person kills.  What happens to their brains that causes them to just lose it?  I know that this is something we already research so I just find it so hard to believe that any sane person could outright blame a video game for the various mental illnesses of our species.

Start looking at the world around us, find a way to fix that.
