Racing Games Leading to Poor Driving?

Results from a study held in Germany have found that people who play car racing video games tend to get into more accidents by driving in a reckless fashion.  You can read the entire article on this study by CLICKING HERE

I always have a problem with these sorts of small studies.  Basically they had a total of less than 200 research participants.  Of which they found the majority of them conducted themselves in dangerous ways after immediately playing a high speed car racing game.  What they don’t clearly point out is that after having these subjects play the game, they then put them on a computer simulated driving test.  Clearly to me that is not a good study. Now were you to get in a real car with one of the subjects and truly observe their driving techniques, then I would say that perhaps the study has merit.  At this point, I think it’s just a bunch of bull quite honestly.

Let’s give gamers some credit in knowing when running over a person is a game and when it’s real life.  In real life, we all know we don’t earn any “points” for crashing into the old lady’s shopping cart while she tries to cross the street.

It just pisses me off when people try to point the blame about anything that’s wrong with this world towards video games.  I’m personally tired of hearing this psycho babble.
