The Cheap Way to Get New Video Games
We all know how much we look forward to new games coming out. It is like when you are 7 or 8 years old and you know Santa is coming. You get that same warm fuzzy feeling when you’re a die-hard gamer and a new game is set to release. Only problem is, they are always so damn expensive.
There are some things you can do to combat the high cost of purchasing a new video game.
So let’s say there is a new game coming out and you’ve got 5 or maybe even 10 old games that you don’t really play anymore. I mean bottom line really is that if you’re really into gaming, you pretty much run through the entire game in a few days, maybe a week. Once it’s cleared, it’s boring. Realistically how many times can you play a video game that’s been cleared, unless of course it has online play, but even then it can get boring. So buying used games is easy. You finish a game; you take it to your local game store. You can turn that in and get credit on buying a new video game. When I purchased the limited special edition of Splinter Cell for Xbox 360, its full price was $75. I got it for $20 because I turned in two old titles.
Another option is selling your game online. There are lots of sites you can use to sell video games. You can make money that way, but it could take some time. If that hot new release is coming out, this is probably not your quickest option.
Then of course there is one other option that I know of. That is becoming a game tester. Game companies pay people like you and I to test new games before they are even put out on the market. I mean how cool is that? You can get a video game for free. Most companies do let you keep the game after you’ve tested it for them.
