EA Sports is looking for a QA tester. This is an amazing opportunity to get in with a large company. It is only a part time position, but again it’s a start.
This particular position is based out of Louisiana, I know that seems weird, but it could be good for some of my subscribers.
So here are the details:
In order to apply you must have a HS diploma and preferably be going for your bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or an entertainment related field. They say “preferably” not required. Keep that in mind. Sounds to me like they just want someone who has goals in mind.
The skills they require are as follows:
* Has ability and patience to perform detailed testing
* A sharp eye for details, capacity to stay on course, as well as the intuition as to when to veer off the planned track, following a hunch to trap a new bug
* Must possess good spoken and written communication skills and be able to work with varied staff members and personalities.? Communicates with a high degree of understanding, conciseness and directness
* Honesty, punctuality and a strong work ethic
* Takes a proactive, problem-solving/?trouble-shooting approach to identifying and solving customer problems.? Does not stop at identifying the problem, but experiments using available information to try to narrow the possibilities and determine a solution
* Swift note-taking skills to transcribe the pertinent variables upon encountering new bugs
* Capacity to follow checklists with precision
* Actively communicates a positive, outgoing approach to quality assurance
* Able to give and accept positive as well as negative feedback
* Ability to identify what is required by customers and being prepared to provide it
* Working knowledge of most popular console platforms and related hardware
* Working knowledge of Windows and Macintosh operating systems and related hardware
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
* Working knowledge of communications, on-line services and the Internet
They also state that if you have previous QA testing experience that is great, but it’s not a requirement for this particular position.
