Video games have become a very influential aspect in today’s day and age. While many games are worshipped by addictive gamers, they are also criticized by people for changing the way our children are growing up. Video games these days tend to be more violent and studies have linked violent video games to aggressive behavior in kids.

Some even suggest that the unfortunate shootings that took place in some schools a few years back were a result of the influence of violent video games. I am not saying I agree with this, but many people do believe it to be true. Even if video game designers did not design them with these intentions, the change in the behavioral pattern of children and adolescents is not something you can ignore. However, video games are not always harmful. They have positive effects too.

Video games can help by boosting computer literacy among children. Video games designed specifically for sports can invoke a person’s interest in that particular sport and he or she might actually start playing that sport. Video games improve hand and eye coordination among children and older adults. Video games such as Dance Dance Revolution can help reduce obesity and the risk of diabetes. For rehabilitating elderly patients, video games can be used to increase their physical balance and alertness. In addition, playing video games might energize them. Patients with partial paralysis can also benefit from playing video games as their bodies and minds can be stimulated by the activity.

Playing video games involves analysis and estimation of the moves of your opponent, quick decision making and resource management, which are also skills needed in daily life. Therefore, gaming can equip your child with these skills and thus help him or her to deal with real life situations efficiently. In addition, fun video games can help children and adults, both alike, combat many mental disorders.

Some studies have also found out that surgeons who played video games were faster in during surgical procedures than others who did not. In addition, there are people who can make a career out of video games such as programmers & animators. Considering this, today’s game development companies are making efforts to produce games that can help children to learn about dealing with today’s society. These same companies are looking for talented game testers; I know there are a lot of opportunities awaiting you.

This is for all of you stuck in dull and monotonous jobs. They say that ‘All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy’. Therefore, work and play should both be balanced. Ever wondered, what if you got paid for playing video games? This idea might sound absurd at first, but game testing actually involves doing just that! Game testers are people who test games for bugs and glitches and report them so they can be fixed before the game is released. Not many even know that such a career exists. Earlier, developers themselves used to test games, but today games are more complex & game development companies are growing daily, so quality assurance testing for games is now a different field altogether. With the ever-growing gaming industry, game testing has become a lucrative career option for many gamers.

There are basic prerequisites for becoming a game tester. You must be 18 years of age or older if you wish to get paid to test. You should also have a HS diploma or equivalent. You should have the aptitude and passion for playing games and a general understanding of how they work. It would be preferable if you have done some game design courses to understand the design process and where mistakes can be made. You can also participate in public beta tests for video games, which will help you to get familiarized with the actual nature of the job. As a beta tester, your job is to find and report bugs.

And what’s great is that this can be done in your spare time if you find the right job. You must possess the knowledge about various operating systems and gaming consoles. In addition, a game tester must have good writing and communication skills. Because, after all developers are dependent on your reports to fix bugs and errors. Therefore, if your writing is illegible or communication skills are poor you might end up miscommunicating the flaws you did find.

However, game testing as a career is a fun and amazing opportunity. You can find those opportunities here on my site Game-testers.com. You can also join my site so that you can receive news and notifications for game testing openings in various companies.

Good luck!

You are aware that games can be excellent stress busters. Now, these stress busters are also helping teachers to teach difficult subjects like calculus to their students. There are specially developed games for educational purposes. Most of these games are based on calculus and have a number of variations that briefly explains various laws and formulas.

About a year ago, a group called the “Teachers Evaluating Educational Multimedia” (Teem) performed a study on children playing games such as Sim City and Roller Coaster Tycoon. What they concluded from the study surprised everyone. Children playing social games such as the ones in the study were helped with developing strategic thinking and planning skills. This study was done on 700 children ages 7 to 16. Many of them preferred playing in a group atmosphere. You can read the full story here.

In the US, more than 45 million homes have game consoles. Many of them view games as an addiction that causes problems for the typical teenager and can cause violent behavioral changes, if you also have, the same opinion then should read this report. It could change your mind.

The trend for many developers seems to be focusing more and more on social networking. Since video games are a part of everyday life, it would make sense for everyone, including teachers, employers etc to start using them as well.

We clearly know that video games can help teach. Especially when it comes to something as difficult as Calculus. That being said, you would think it’s a given that we start getting these games into the classrooms.

The sad fact is that the whole video game genre has to clear several roadblocks in order to be accepted completely as an educational tool. One of the most important factors is of course, game development. The more educational games developed, the more it becomes the norm.

There are more developers out there than I can count. So that means there are a ton of opportunities for anyone who wants to become a game tester. It’s pretty easy to follow that dream too. It just takes some basic communication and computer skills for the most part to get started.

If you feel the way I do about gaming, then get on board and become part of the world of game testers. Just sign up on my site Game-Testers.com today and get on your way to finding the perfect job for you.

For many of us gamers, who have been around for quite some time we know how much things have changed since Atari.

I can only imagine what our parents have seen with regards to the changes to modern technology. Can you imagine what video games will be like 10 years from now? What about 20 years from now?

Take a look at say the original Pac-Man and compare that to Call of Duty 4. WOW, I mean you can’t even compare. Graphics, user compatibility, online action, etc. Gaming has changed so much just over the last 10 years; I can’t even begin to imagine where it will be in 10 more.

Now the naysayers have and will always argue that games are bad at some level. Violence, upsetting the kids, whatever. It’s not going to stop and will probably escalate to a point we’ve never seen yet. That’s scary too.

The good news is that these days, I’ve seen a lot of video games being used positively in helping those with mental and physical illnesses. Just the other night I watched something on the news about Nintendo donating a bunch of Wii consoles to a kids hospital.

With the expansions we’ve had on artificial intelligence and general technology, I hope that I am alive long enough to see how that translates into the latest and greatest video games out there.

Who would have thought a few years ago that Nintendo would come out with a console that would allow you to exercise? I mean really exercise? Calculate body mass, really work you out? I wouldn’t have thought of that. With all of the high tech applications out there today, it’s only going to get better.

All the big gaming developers are busy developing more sophisticated and more advanced versions of gaming consoles. If you have any doubt on the positive future of games, then take my word; it’s amazing and continuing to allow great opportunities for gamers who want to make a career in the gaming industry. In this highly competitive field, companies are in need of game testers (and other game related positions), who can test their games and make their companies and games more successful.

Lots of game tester opportunities are waiting for you here on my site Game-testers.com. You can also subscribe here so to get access to the latest opportunities posted.

This article is not going to tell you to keep playing games nor will it suggest that playing games continuously is good for your health. Most video games have been labeled as violent for centuries, which is totally wrong. Other than just playing, there are many useful applications for video games. And these applications have been proven by years of study and research.

It’s a fact that, teenagers and children are likely to utilize most of their time sitting in front of game consoles and computers, playing games, which in turn supposedly affects their overall progress. It can bring about a negative change in areas such as education, mental abilities, and social abilities. Researchers call this a “behavioral change”, but they have always said that this is not only a situation that can be caused by playing video games. So here is my point, you might have read in a newspaper, on the internet, or even heard on the local news that video games are now being used in many schools as an educational tool to teach basic subjects like Calculus. Isn’t it good news for game developers? And maybe bad news for those who blame video games for negatively affecting their children.

Game developers are now concentrating more on developing games that can help the player actually learn something. As one good example look at Wii Fitness, developed by Nintendo. Although this is a game console just like any other, it includes 40 different exercise simulations, which can be performed on a unique platform provided with the console, known as the Wii Balance Board. It’s user friendly and will allow you to do yoga (amongst other things) in an effort to maintain your health. Wii’s Fitness console is also able to calculate a user’s body mass index, which helps the console to suggest the appropriate exercises. The player then collects points by doing the exercise that is instructed by the console.

Now let’s talk about other games. If we observer people’s trends then we will find that nowadays some people are leaning towards buying games with less violence and action. There is a specific reason for this and it is related to results obtained through yearlong research and development. Today’s games have proved helpful to kids as well as adults in an effort to stay completely fit both mentally and physically.

That is why these types of games are now in high demand, and hence game developing companies are looking for young gamers who can work as a game tester and can also suggest new ideas. If you have a new idea or want to get in on testing games sign up on my site Game-testers.com and receive an excellent opportunity to work as a game tester and be heard by the gaming community.

Looking for an entry level game testing gig that's really entry level? No previous work history required? Then this could be what you've been waiting on.

Many of my subscribers complain that a lot of the entry level jobs out there actually do require some sort of experience.

I found one that says NOTHING at all about having experience.

It appears to be for a temporary staffing agency and they do not specify which company you would be actually testing for, BUT it is clearly and entry level, no experience required job.

Here are the required skills as they have them listed:

** PEOPLE: Strong people skills
** The ability to work with various individuals in various groups of varying skill sets and facilitate communication between them

** ** A fluency in a secondary Language such as French Canadian or Mexican Spanish is a Plus

** Motivated

** Supportive

** Team Spirit

All that is also required to apply for this position is a HS diploma or equivalent, which is standard with most entry level testing jobs.

You will notice that a plus they are looking for is fluency in a secondary language such as French Canadian or Spanish. So if you’ve got either of those skills, you’ll stand out above others for this particular position.

The position is located in Foster City, CA and to apply you must go to the posting on Monster.com which is HERE

As always, be sure to read the posting in full before you apply to determine if you in fact qualify.

I know that many of the jobs out there are located in CA or NYC. But that doesn’t mean there isn’t a job that’s in your area. You just need to know where to look for it. That is where Game-Testers.com comes in to play. So sign up today and get the job of your dreams.

If you have decided to make a career out of game testing, then before appearing for an interview you should thoroughly prepare yourself. There are some major points that need to be considered before you apply for the job of a of game tester.

Your resume is the most important item which decides whether you are eligible for an interview or not. If your resume gives a well-written clear idea about yourself, then it becomes easier for a company to understand your abilities. On the contrary, if your resume is jumbled between words, experience, and presentation then you are definitely out of the race. In other words, make the resume as simple and well arranged as possible. Such a resume makes a lot of difference by improving your own self-confidence and your ability to reply to the questions asked in the interview. Keep in mind that although a game tester’s job is an interesting career opportunity you should not take it as just fun. Just as in any other job, you will be assigned several tasks to perform in a limited period of time and be expected to perform at your best.

While you prepare yourself for a game testing job, you need to have adequate knowledge of all major game platforms used today. This is extremely beneficial as the person who conducts an interview may test how deep your knowledge is about the latest game consoles. Along with that, I also would suggest you play as many games as you can and study them all carefully. Try to find and list out problems you faced during the game and possible come up with a solution for the issues. Doing this sort of homework trains you to work out complicated tasks during your office work. After you are appointed for the post of game tester, strictly follow the instruction and adhere to the work schedule.

I have another suggestion for every interviewee. That is that you should be calm and quiet at the place where interviews are being conducted. Because even after you’re well prepared, unnecessary chattering can lower down your performance as most of the times such chattering creates a lot of confusion.

There are lot of other things that should be heeded at the time of interview. And don’t worry; even if you could not obtain the actual interview, keep searching other opportunities or just log on to my site Game-testers.com. Here you will find lots of job opportunities for young of game testers.

So prepare yourself and start sending resumes to the companies with the help of Game-testers.com
