Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Conviction
This upcoming game is the fifth installment in the widely popular series of ‘Splinter Cell’. It is developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft. This game is sure to get instant recognition due to the popularity of its previous versions namely Splinter Cell, Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, and Splinter Cell: Double Agent. The game is all set to hit the market in Feb 2010, and will be available for the PC and XBox 360.
This game is all set to host a variety of cool features which will be a huge improvement over the previous games. The “mark and execute” feature for example allows Sam to tag an opponent, a feature that will allow Sam to fire automatically. If Sam enters into a room which holds two enemies, the feature enables Sam to be only visible to one of them to increase his competitiveness. There is also a feature known as the “last known position” which occurs whenever our hero is spotted but disappears as soon as he breaks out of the line of sight of the enemy. This feature gives Sam the flexibility to change his actions at his will. There are a host of cool features including the ability to shoot while hanging from a wall, or questioning enemies while putting the environment to good use and smashing someone’s head in a mirror.
The game’s visual are nothing less than spectacular as they greatly enhance the quality of the game. Whenever players are in the shadows, the visuals indicate that by losing color. When enemies are pinpointed in color, the hero can sight them more clearly. The objectives of your missions are shown on walls, which makes the game more user-friendly.
Sam has the power to use the environment to his advantage and has the ability to interrogate people and threaten to throw them out. The exciting thing about this game is that there are a number of things in the game like flowerpots and statues that can be smashed to bits. Civilians are crucial for the completion of Sam’s mission as he is able to create a panic just by drawing his gun in public and creating a uproar. This ability enables Sam to lose track of his enemies and flee or take cover.
Cool gadgets like cameras will be available as the game goes on. Sam Fisher resigns from the Third Echelon, despite many threatening protests. Sarah fisher dies in a drunk driving accident and Sam is interrogated. Sam to his horror discovers that his daughter did not die in an accident but had something to do with his previous job.
This is a must for all Tom Clancy fans. So be sure to check it out next year.
