The Decline of Cheats

So it appears that fewer and fewer gamers are relying on the ever popular video game cheat codes.  Which at first glance might be a good thing.  More gamers are relying on their own hard work and experience to clear game boards without the use of cheat codes.

Although this seems like a good thing for gamers, it’s actually bad news for employees (who are also gamers) whose job it is to uncover hidden idols and zones in all of the popular games out there today.  There are actually gamers who work for companies that distribute nothing but cheat codes & tips.  It’s those very gamers who will be out of a job should the downtrend in cheat code needs continue.

As a gamer, I myself have used my share of cheat codes.  To get more guns, play with ever increasing health, you name it, I’ve done it.  I truly believe that cheat codes are part of gaming.  Don’t get me wrong, I have also played many a game without using cheats, but it has been a big part of my gaming life for the last 15 years.

What I find most disapointing about this whole thing is that hard working gamers could be out of a job if this continues.  So to all gamers I say, let’s cheat.  Let’s keep our other fellow gamers working.  Uncovering tips & cheats is not an easy feat by any means and these gamers deserve to keep their jobs.  It doesn’t hurt to use some cheat codes when you’re stuck on a board for a week straight.  I’ve been there and I’ve done it and I’m glad I did.  And you know what I would do it again.

So let’s all keep gamers employed and use cheats when the need arises.  With the game companies making games more and more complex, cheats will be needed.
