The Beatles: Rock Band
The Beatles: Rock Band is one of the best music video games released this year. The game was developed by Harmonix music system and published by Electronic Arts. The third installment of the Rock Band series, it is a total music thriller. The game stimulates the players towards rock music by handling controllers that resemble musical instruments. The downloadable content from the game is all of the albums of the Beatles.
PS3, Wii and Xbox 360 are all the platforms on which this game can be played. Already released Sept 9th, if you’re a Rock Band fan then you’ve got to get your hands on this copy.
The game gives the player the unique opportunity to perform in a virtual band. It presents 6 players, to play up to 3 controllers, replicas of musical instruments. A guitar control is available for lead guitar, a bass guitar, a drum controller and the maximum of 3 controllers are also available. Hitting the right notes at the right time gives points to the player. If the player is not able to ring the ‘proper notes’ his performance meter is downgraded.
If the meter gets empty then the player is forced to resign from the band, affecting the band’s overall performance. A feature in the game called ‘Beatlemania might however help the player earn meter points. When songs of multi parts are concerned the players will have to make an effort to play consistently with the lead singer in order to score points. Players will have the opportunity of earning additional points by successfully completing phrases in harmony.
The game play mode bears a resemblance to the Rock Band Mode while the ‘story’ mode resembles the career mode of the first ‘Rock Band’ version. Players may complete optional challenges and become successful band members. Think you have what it takes? Then Rock On Gamers!
