Sony Computer Entertainment Jumping on the Communication Bandwagon
I’ve quite frequently heard complaints from PS3 players that they cannot communicate during game play with other players.
As any XBox 360 fan knows, this is an all too common part of online play using the XBox Live. Communicating during game play especially in team situations is critical.
PS3 is finally get in on this. Ray Maguire the head of the UK office of Sony announced the new upcoming feature stating “Our momentum will continue with the introduction of in-game communication in the summer, firmware update 2.4 and the strongest line-up of games through our third party partners and our own studios. I’d personally like to thank our trade and business partners for helping us on the start of the PS3 journey.”
This is something that I’m sure excites many PS3 owners. And as the time progresses more and more gamers will own a PS3 and I’m sure they too will miss the ability to communicate with their gamer friends during a game.
Can you imagine playing COD4 without being able to tell your team mate that as you’re setting the bomb, there is someone coming up behind you? Or that there is a sniper in the far east window? That would really suck, so much so that I can’t even imagine it.
This is a great day for PS3 owners and I’m looking forward to the day this becomes official.
