Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box
Level 5 just released its second game in the popular ‘Professor Layton series’. Professor: Layton and the Diabolical Box, known in Europe as Professor Layton and Pandora’s Box. Already a very successful game in Japan, the game just recently washed the shores of North America and Europe on August 24, 2009.
The game is set on a train where the main characters Professor Layton and Luke, travel the countryside in search of a box that is said to kill anyone who opens it. Developed by Level 5 and published by Nintendo, excluding Japan. This highly thrilling game can be played on Nintendo DS.
The Professor’s truck is a highly unusual and interesting object in the game featuring ‘mystery Journal’, ‘Unique Cameras’, ‘Hamster’ and ‘Herb Tea’. The four ingredients operate on the guidelines of the ‘Inn’ and ‘Painting’ sub games from the previous version of the game. This game is a puzzle solving based one. Solving puzzles is an integrated and necessary part of the game. Solving the puzzles might help the players to give a workout to your hamster, a part of the camera, a new tea ingredient etc.
The secret mode of the game, a highly exiting and intense mode, is composed of four things: the downloadable puzzles, a feature that was also made available in the first version, a mystery journal, Layton’s Challenges along with a bonus section. The features bare resemblance to the ones in ‘Curious Village’.
Audio clips along with movies and soundtracks are included as bonus materials. The game includes a passwords protected bonus section, where codes are entered in order to unlock further awards.
