Need for Speed: Shift is the latest version of the extremely popular ‘Need for Speed’ series. The extremely popular series is known to almost every racing gamer. Those who like to race, live the rough life and zoom past life are going to love this game. Developed by Slightly Mad Studios and published by Electronic Arts, the game is an absolute racing thriller.

Since it’s debut on Sept 15th, it has received only the best reviews. It is available for the PS3, PSP, PC, XBox 360 as well as your iPhone.

The game which has been in development for over 2 years features a variety of cool visuals and graphics including a new ‘Driver Experience’. The AI and the player are very influenced by the role of the g-force in the game. The ‘in car’ view will make a comeback, last seen in the ‘Porsche Unleashed’ version. There have been improvements been made for the ‘in car’ view where the change of gears is precisely clear. Crashing of your car in the game will create a temporary blur. The quality of the sound is breathtaking, even including the heavy breathing of the driver before a crash.

The customization of the car is more in-depth such as alignment, air, tires, brakes, differential, and gears. The ‘nitrous’ feature in the game is also more realistic. Need for Speed: Shift features both real life tracks as well as imaginary tracks.

There have been some changes and improvements to the game since last versions. Shift is based on the ‘Ferrari’ model. The settings are much more professional and more accurate than the GTR2 version. Beginners are at an advantage in this game as the game offers 10% extra tire gripping. Shift will host a whole new range of cars from Golf GTI to Pagani Zonda F.
