My Horse & Me: Riding for Gold has been developed by Tate Interactive and published by Atari. My Horse & Me: Riding for Gold is all set to be released on April 7, 2009 for the PC, Nintendo DS, PlayStation 2, and Xbox 360.
As the name suggests, this game is all about horses and its riders. If you love equestrian sports, then you would love this horse simulation game. This game is a sequel to the hugely popular My Horse & Me game. This game’s authenticity can be judged from the fact that it has successfully obtained a license from the world’s leading horse sports organization.
This game is all about competing in events with your horse and winning the gold. You can also take part in dressage competitions which requires unbelievable synchronization with your horse. Achieving this on your Nunchuk and Wii Remote may seem difficult but the game is very responsive to controls and controlling your horse is one problem you will never face.
This game is not about just hopping on your horse and participating in competitions. You will never win if you adopt such an approach. You need to establish a bond with your horse first. You have to care for your horse and groom it properly. The appearance of your horse matters a lot and you should ignore this point at your own peril. If you love horses, in the real world as well as the virtual world, you will not find it difficult to groom your horse well and ensure its good appearance.
A good looking horse and a good looking rider are of no use unless they are in synch with each other. This is possible only with the help of lots of training. You can make a mark in equestrian and dressage events only if you take time out to play the training modes.
For those who want their horse to reflect the person on top, you can opt to change the appearance of the horse to ensure you and your horse look like a single unit. You can customize the color of your horse and its markings and also choose your own hair and clothes to ensure you both look similar at all times.
Now I don’t suggest this game for most gamers because honestly I think I would lose my mind trying to play it. But hey for kids, I think it’s great.
