Magician’s Quest: Mysterious Times is being published by Konami. Magician’s Quest: Mysterious Times is all set to be released on May 5, 2009 exclusively for the Nintendo DS.

This is a game where you learn to do magic, test your skills in 52 different adventures, interact with 150 different characters and have more than 1,500 features to customize including your clothes, character, upgrades, accessories and even furniture.

This game has a very simple plot. You are at a magic school where you learn everything there is to learn about magic. Unlike other schools, you are tested once in a week. Further, unlike other schools, you do not sit down and take written exams. Here, you are given adventures to complete with the help of your magic skills. Whether you were attentive in class or not is determined by your level of expertise shown in the adventures.

Up to this point, the game is just like any other magic game. However, from this point onwards, the game quickly drifts on to a different track. You can strike up friendships with other characters. This affects your choice of adventures and the manner in which you would overcome these adventures. That is to say, you may end up with a completely different way of completing an adventure when you play the game again. It all depends on your choice of friends. Your quests will often require you to rely on your friends and other mythical characters for assistance. How you utilize the assistance determines whether you succeed in your quests or not.

Playing such games in cooperative mode is a completely different experience as compared to playing them in single player mode. Thankfully, this game offers not just a 2 player mode but also a 4 player local cooperative mode.
