Jumpgate Evolution has been developed by NetDevil and is being published by Codemasters. Jumpgate Evolution is all set to be released on March 2, 2009. It will be an online MMO.
This game introduces you to a galaxy which is walking the tight rope between war and peace. The situation is very fluid and your actions have a significant impact on the final outcome.
You get to play in a living and ever changing universe and have to carry out several missions across the vast stretches of empty space. You can choose combat missions or patrolling missions. These are action oriented missions which involve rapid pace battles where you have to employ your firepower to obliterate your enemies. You can also opt for mining missions which involves accumulation of resources and delivery missions which require you to deliver commodities without being looted, plundered or destroyed. These missions are trading missions. Needless to say, being good at action or being good at trading alone will not suffice. You need the money to back up your military requirements and the military might to ensure you trade in peace.
Your success or failure effects the economy around you. Successful delivery will result in increase in supply and this will have its natural effect on the economy.
The size of the universe and the complexities of the objectives may have become drawbacks had it not been for the convenient user interface which helps the player negotiate the game without any difficulty.
You can choose to save the universe alone or can choose to pick up a few friends as you proceed. Needless to say, the company of friends makes the task of saving the universe a lot more entertaining. Of course, you can become an elite hero by taking on the bad guys and destroying them single handedly.
The visuals and the graphics of Jumpgate Evolution are awesome, as one would expect them to be. Saving the universe is a very big deal and the visuals of the game help get the message across. The vastness of the universe, the various galaxies and the action sequences have been designed well.
