Is the Wii to Blame For Violence Among Children?
It seems neverending. As long as there is something out there that we can blame for violence, it will be blamed. I really wish at this point in time, in the year 2008 people can just stand up and take responsibility for the problems of the world instead of claiming it’s Nintendo’s fault.
Apparently there has been an increase in violence in teenage children in middle school. First of all, don’t let me get started on what is truth and what is not. Where did they come up with this “increase in violence”? Who did the study, is it believable? Was it conducted by some freakish group of parents against video games? The sad thing is, you honestly never really know what to believe anymore.
Every major game company at some point in their history has come across a battle with groups totally against either them as a company or even a specific game. I mean can you believe there is actually a group of parents named “Parents Against Wii”? Well let’s ask this question, who the fu** bought them the Wii? When did these parents decide it was time to fight Nintendo, before or after they went out and bought Wii’s for all their kids for Christmas?
If you don’t like it, don’t play it. If you don’t feel comfortable having your kids play it, then don’t let them play it. It SEEMS simple enough, but it never really is.
The very sad truth is this. Every parent out there has a responsibility to teach their children right and wrong. If a child is raised responsibly, then it won’t really matter if they fire plungers at a few cute bunny rabbits. It will be “fun”, which is what it was meant to be and won’t signify the beginning of children bringing in plungers to classrooms.
