History’s Great Empires: Rome has been developed by Slitherine Software and is being published by Valcon Games. History’s Great Empires: Rome is all set to be released on May 5, 2009 exclusively for the Nintendo DS.
History’s Great Empires: Rome is a strategy game where you find out the answer to how Rome was built the hard way- by doing it yourself. You are put in charge of the Roman Empire and it is your duty to ensure the civilization reaches its peak of glory. You will have many tools in your hands to achieve this goal.
The most obvious tool is economic might. You will be put in charge of a land rich in resources. It is up to you to exploit it well and manage the resources to increase the economic might of the empire. Of course, you cannot use money blatantly to win over your detractors. You will have to combine it with diplomacy to extend the reach of the Empire to newer horizons. Where all other means fail, you have the option of using your military might to destroy your enemies. This has to be done without mercy as the savage hordes of warriors are hell bent on destroying civilization that stands in the form of Rome.
The combination of administration, economic power and military strength must be used in a coordinated manner to ensure you achieve your target very quickly.
One common complaint found about strategy games is that they never seem to have a logical ending. Well, building an empire will take a while.
