Game Designer David Jaffe
I found this really cool site from a game designer who was involved in God of War, and Twisted Metal to name a few games. Anyway, his latest creation is Calling All Cars for the PS3.

Anyway, if you’re into gaming he’s got some pretty cool blogs posted on his site. So I found one that was about game testing. He held a focus test and blogged it live throughout the day. It really is hysterical. You’ve got to check it out. Just CLICK HERE to view the entire post on the focus group.
You’ll see that he took a lot of slack for the stuff he said about game testers cause it immediately starts out with an apology of sorts. But it does go to show you the type of testers that are getting these jobs. I know that my subscribers are all hard core gamers who would take game testing VERY seriously. It’s a shame that the testers that David Jaffe had for his focus group were not as serious about the job as they needed to be. You will see that he is quoted as saying things such as:
“- Moving to split screen…man tester #5 is a ******* dolt!!! What the hell?!?! He is just driving in circles…not even playing the game…is that ******* spit drooling out of his stupid ******* mouth!?!?! Ahem,well…anyway…. :)”
Needless to say his language could be cleaner, but personally I appreciate the rawness.
I like what he has to say because it gives you an inside look at how it feels to have your game critiqued by testers. It’s a totally different perspective than the one I am used to seeing which is that of the tester.
Perhaps he should contact my site and get some quality testers!
