Enter a Tournament, Enter the Army?
Ah the two just don’t seem to fit together but you heard it right. The US Army is sponsoring a video game tournament in Chandler Arizona. Fascinating. Apparently this has been going on for years, but what do I know?
So here is the deal, the tournament will be held at Tropical Smoothie Cafe located at 4015 S. Arizona Avenue in Chandler, AZ. They did have on site registrations today, but that is over now. You’re only option if you wish to register is by phone at 480-963-7870.
As part of this tournament, you will get to play America’s Army a first person shooter that the Army actually created back in 2002. This game was actually released last month for the XBox 360.
Of course you will also then be hearing about all of the benefits of joining the Army.
You can win prizes and an i-Pod shuffle goes to the winning tournament team. You will actually also get to strap on a real Army weapon and get the full soldier experience.
I think if you’re living in Chandler it doesn’t hurt to check it out. I won’t get into my own personal views of the military or our government or any of that, that just isn’t me, I just wanted to spread the word to those of you who may be interested in checking something like this out. Whether it be for the interest in the Army or for the interest in tournaments.
