Depths of Peril
Depths of Peril is a single player PC game being developed and published by Soldak Entertainment. The game is slated for a release on September 5, 2008.
In this game, you play a group leader who is in charge of protecting the barbarian city called Jorvik from attacking monsters. At the same time, you are also supposed to compete with other rival groups. You have to do this since Barbarians select their leaders through fatal fights. The one left standing at the end of the fight is the winner. So beware when dealing with rival groups. As a group leader, you will have to be diplomatic or trade with them to keep them happy. In order to stand up against your enemies, you will have to build the toughest and strongest group possible.
One group named Legion of Fear must be dealt with very carefully as they could destroy you if you push them too hard. Similarly instigating Orc Uprisings, which take shelter in the Black Forest, could finish you off if you trouble them. In this dangerous world of fantasy where friends are rare, you must make friends with ally covenants in their times of trouble as they too will give back to you during your toughest times.
In order to become the most powerful group, you will have to kill pillaging monsters, go on quests, explore the world, and steal gold, etc. to support your operations.
There are many heroes in this game. Just to name a few…
* Greta Hillard is one who finds a place for herself among men on a mission to find the son of the God Din.
* Retter Ketill, is another hero who joins Greta on her quest to find Thaden, the son of the God Din. He is a barabaric defender.
* Bevan Huntington was a man with many plans, which could not be fulfilled due to the great Fourth War. He battles the dangerous zombie and orc armies along with the barbarian soldier Skadd Frithfell.
* Brenna Burleigh had no idea what she was going to be pulled into when she had set out on a journey to Forfashire with her magic teacher to help other magicians.
