Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor has been developed by Relic and is being published by THQ. This latest release of Company of Heroes is set to be released on April 8, 2009 exclusively for the PC.

Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor is an expansion for the popular RTS game Company of Heroes. However, this improved version is available as a stand alone game and you can play this game even if you do not have the original Company of Heroes game. The improved version has new maps, new units, three new campaigns and new multiplayer modes.

You can choose to play any of the three episodes that the game offers. You can opt for the Tiger Ace control where you participate in one of the biggest tank battles of World War II. In the second episode, you command a paratrooper company that is taking on the enemy just a few hours after D-Day operations have commenced. You switch sides in the third episode and command the German Army and try to hold off the Allied advance with your weapons and artillery.

One unique feature of this game is that you can opt to play in overall command of your troops or give general orders to some troops and take personal charge of other troops. For example, you can direct all your tanks to target the enemy and then proceed to take charge of a few tanks yourself and direct their attacks using your game controller. This requires proper understanding of the equipment and the controls. For example, simply swerving around will not do as you will have to wait for the turret of your tank to swivel around to ensure the accuracy of your shot.

Of course, when the action becomes very intense, focusing on just a single unit or group of units and ignoring the rest of your army is not a smart move either. It is better to make use of direct control when your enemy has not attacked in full force yet. Then, it is safer to opt for a bird’s eye view of all your units.

The new units available contribute a lot to the overall pace of the game. New amphibious vehicles and armored cars help you fight better and inflict more casualties without getting you killed in the process.
