Bionic Commando-Rad is Back!
Bionic Commando is an action game set to be released in December of 2009. It is being developed by GRIN and published by Capcom. The first game in this series was released in the year 1988. Now, this sequel is going to be a more up to date modernized version of its predecessor.
The player will still take on the role of Nathan Spencer a.k.a. Rad. Rad is a famous government operative who received the government’s honor and respect when he battled the Imperials. The game is set in Ascension city.
Rad has a bionic arm; hence his name is Bionic Commando. However, when he is wrongly convicted by his commander Super Joe of crimes he did not commit; his bionic arm is removed and he is sentenced to death. Super Joe is an old character, so most Commando fans may be familiar with him. On the day of Rad’s execution, terrorists explode a deadly weapon, which results in an earthquake causing the city to be reduced to mere rubble.
The city is now in the hands of a terrorist and the only person the FSA can rely on to save the city is the Bionic commando. So, Commando Joe decides to strike a deal with Rad. If Rad defeats the terrorists then he will be cleared of all charges. So he acquires a new bionic arm and fights the terrorists. This game is more advanced than its older version. It is in 3D with improved skills for the player.
The player can swing and shoot, traverse canyons and rocky landscapes using various scaling, swinging, wall walking and climbing techniques. The bionic arm is a big part of the game as well. It can be used to hook on to objects, swing in between buildings (think Spiderman) and help choose the best route. The game play progresses in both vertical and horizontal environments.
This game is an online multiplayer game with capability of 10 players being able to play simultaneously. It is being released for the PC and PS3.
