To sail the seas without any rules and restrictions is freedom. Here is your chance to be a pirate or be a part of a naval force that finally rids civilized world of the scourge of piracy.

You can choose to command the naval forces of French, English, Spanish or Dutch as you desire. Your naval fleet shall be pitted with on the most savage pirates ever to have sailed the seven seas.

This game offers three different characters and 3 different classes. You can opt for Merchant, Corsair or the Adventurer to take on the pirates. Each choice will lead to ten different missions. Overall, this game offers four campaigns and forty missions. This should be more than sufficient to satisfy your urge to ‘commandeer’ a ship. The best part is that you can do this without even getting your feet wet.

You can opt for either ship to ship combat which involves lots of shooting, gunfire and cannon fire or you can take on the pirates in hand to hand combat. Piracy may be about freedom and the seas but there always is a bit of gold lurking beneath as the prime motive. Trading and looting traders has been the favorite past time of pirates and it is no different in this game as well.

This game is based in the Caribbean with detailed maps and real life governors of the British Empire.

This game is not all about ship battles only. You also have to uncover mysteries and find the truth behind myths of lost tribes in the jungles of South America.

Let’s not forget your opportunities to raid cities. Keep in mind this is not easy despite having heavy weaponry on board. These cities are often fortified and you cannot loot them by simply going on a rampage. You have to marshal your resources well and this requires quite some skill.
On the whole, this game is fun to play and does not disappoint in the visuals and graphics department as well. Sluggish controls could have destroyed the entire game but the ships respond to your commands very well.
