Before you apply for a game testing job, I think you should double check whether you are eligible for this position. There is no point in applying for a job that you do not qualify for.

Research the company first, get a good grasp on the games that the company develops, and carefully study other aspects of the company. You also need to be clear about the basics of game design as a game tester is sometimes allowed to suggest better game graphics. Refine your hardware and software knowledge a bit. This is very important as a professional game tester’s job sometimes requires consistent hardware support. This will also help you to confidently answer certain questions that may be asked during the interview.
Just like any real job interview, a basic prerequisite is you should be in dressed to succeed.
