How Do I Become a Game Tester?
Becoming a video game tester is a lot simpler than most people would believe. Just take into consideration the fact that there are several hundred positions available online at any given time.

So now for knowledge. It’s important that a game tester have a few key components:
- General gaming knowledge
- Experience playing at least one gaming system, the more the better in this area
- General computer experience
- Good written & verbal communication skills
So the basic run down of becoming a game tester is this. You are getting a game that is not yet finished. You then have to play it to find the kinks. For example, were you walking on a sidewalk and there was a hole that wasn’t supposed to be there? That would be a flaw that would need to be reported to the company.
Then there are other areas you have to report on, like marketing. Was the game fun to play? Did you like to play it in single user mode or multi-player? Were the levels easy to pass or hard? The list of questions goes on.
The more data you can give to the game company, the more valuable.
There are of course a few fun parts to this. First you get to play video games for a living, second you get paid, and third your opinion will determine changes in the final version of the game. I mean if that doesn’t sound totally cool, then I don’t know what does.
